The Big Clean Up is taking place in Diss on 26th and 27th May 2012. Cittaslow’s Margaret Mittins-Ladd gets us up to speed:
“All is coming together nicely. We have great support from south Norfolk Council who are bringing out the big machines to clean up the streets and grafitti, and on Saturday & Sunday we are hoping that the town will support us by cleaning up in groups around the town and other areas. The Diss Business Forum have sponsored the window stickers and Councillor Jay Hurley contributed her allowance to cover the cost of sticker badges for those who help on the clean up days.
We are hoping to get the High School involved with photography and/or videoing some of the work done as well. Jane Trippett-Jones and I are talking to all the shop keepers in the town and asking for their ongoing support to keep their shops and frontage clean and tidy, etc. It doesn’t sound that much when emailed but it certainly takes times to get it all done.” (Cittaslow UK would argue that it sounds like an awful lot that’s being done!)
