Energy Reduction in Mold

Mold residents sign up for Electric Avenue Scheme.
Volunteer energy champions are helping residents to reduce their heating and electricity bills, with the support of Bryn Gwalia Communities First staff, Janiene Davies and Kathleen Mackey. Over seventy households have borrowed energy monitors to measure their electricity use. Energy champions are visiting them, conducting surveys and giving information.
Some households have used this information to ask their energy suppliers about better tariffs and ways of paying. One woman discovered that she’d been over-paying British Gas by nearly £100 a year.
Parkfields and the Clubhouse are the twin hubs of the scheme, and will benefit from new insulation measures. Cadwyn Clwyd, the Local Energy Assessment Fund (LEAF), and Communities First have funded the scheme. For information call Communities First on 01352 705931.
