The New County Hotel in Perth was celebrating after head chef Rory Lovie (22) was named Scotland’s Rising Young Chef just two months after taking up his position.
Rory from North Muirton, trained at Perth College and worked at the Let’s Eat restaurant and Huntingtower Hotel in the city before moving to the New County Hotel as sous chef three-and-half years ago.

Recently appointed General Manager, Jalal Al-Ibrahimi, commented, “He is a star with a great passion for sourcing the finest of fresh produce and presenting his dishes full of the most fantastic flavours, and we are very proud of him.”
Mr Al Ibrahimi was also presented with a Management Gold Medal and Gavin’s Bistro picked up the Best Bar Food Award.
