Cittaslow Towns in the United Kingdom

Cittaslow is still young in the UK but the UK network already has nine towns as members, which makes it one of the largest national Cittaslow networks outside Italy. The nine member towns are listed to the left. Click on each town for further information about its history, its present day, and how it works with Cittaslow.

In addition to the nine member towns, Perth & Kinross Council is the first Cittaslow Supporter in the UK.

Cittaslow UK has deliberately not attempted to proactively market or sell the Cittaslow concept, but a respectable number of towns have already made serious enquiries about becoming Cittaslow. 

One of the main strengths of Cittaslow is the way in which it provides a framework for improvement and involves local communities. In due course, membership of the network, with opportunities to share and develop good ideas and best practice, is likely to prove another major strength.
