Supporters and Friends
We believe wholeheartedly that Cittaslow towns are happier towns for everyone who lives in and around them.
“Cittaslow has potential to make a real difference in its member-towns, and to reach the parts that other small town initiatives don’t.” (from Dr Tessa Holland’s thesis on Cittaslow.)
If you would like to help us spread the word about Cittaslow and encourage others to find out more about the ‘Slow’ revolution, you can support us in the following ways:
Become a Supporter/Friend of Cittaslow UK
‘Supporters’ are public institutions (for instance local authorities) that financially support the activities of Cittaslow UK and promote Cittaslow projects in their area.
‘Friends’ include cultural and scientific associations, chambers of commerce, non-profit professional and trade associations, as well as large private and public businesses.
If you or your organisation is interested in becoming a Supporter or a Friend, please fill in the enquiry form for further details.
Become a Champion of your Cittaslow town
Every member town has the opportunity to appoint their own Cittaslow Champions. Champions in this context are local businesses, entrepreneurs and organisations that distinguish themselves from others in their field by supporting Cittaslow’s values. When carrying out all their activities, it’s clear that they subscribe to – and apply – these values. Champions include social enterprises, innovators in sustainable techniques, a person or group being socially involved in the community and/or involving disadvantaged people.
A local Champion can use the Cittaslow logo of the town that has appointed it in their marketing, but not on their products. For further details, please get in touch with your town’s Cittaslow group. See the list of towns below.
